Habits
Not very good at blogging. I just read the last one and realized, it's the only one in over a year. The truth is, you can think of things to say all the time, but do you give the time to write them down? Now there's the problem.
It's a matter of forming better habits, isn't it! We all need to do that in some part of our life. So, it's been on my mind to blog more consistently so that I can work on building better habits. Besides, I really do think I might have something valuable to enter that may just be of interest to someone like you out there.
Everything I write should and hopefully will be a result of my own learning experiences. I realize I may have the tendency to get preachy. But the intent is to share my own experiences and how they relate to life. I've lived my life trying to do the right things; to be good to people, be a friend to others, and be faithful and trustworthy to those whom I'm close to and love. Again, the Holbrook way is to be everyone's friend as we really don't do well with enemies. But being a Holbrook means I'm not a Smith or a Gupta or a Lee. So, I can only give you the Holbrook half.
So how can you impact your future? Build some new positive habits. Eliminate some bad habits? Replace bad habits with good ones. For example, if you smoke, replace it with eating. Actually, most people who quit smoking gain weight. Most "stop smoking" plans are designed around this very concept; replace the bad habit with a good one. For instance, gum chewing; just remember though; when you chew your gum, learn to be a good discreet gum chewer. Nobody wants to see you chew your Cudd! On that note, my wife doesn't let me chew gum. Good thing I've never been a smoker.
So, my new habit is to write on my blog once and a while. Let's go for a minimum of twice a week. To do that means I will have to spend one less hour vegging away in front of the television. That's become a bit of a habit in the evenings anyway. So now I'm killing two birds with one stone. This actually might work!
To anyone who is actually reading this blog, is there a habit you need to stop and what will you intend to replace it with? Or in my case, what habit do you want to begin and what will it replace?
Readers will help me be accountable anyway and if you're out there taking the time to read this, you may as well give it a try and participate along with me.
So for now, have a great day.
